Boiler Pressure Too Low? How to Repressurise Safely
By Super Admin · May 31, 2026
Low boiler pressure is one of the most common reasons homeowners lose heating or hot water. Most modern combi boilers operate between 1.0 and 1.5 bar when the system is cold.
How to check pressure
Look at the pressure gauge on the front of your boiler. If it is below 1 bar, your system may need repressurising.
When to call an engineer
If pressure keeps dropping after topping up, you may have a leak in the system. Book a boiler repair appointment rather than repeatedly adding water.
